Bishop Clifton T. Jones, Sr., was born June 23 in Mansfield, Ohio to James and Fannie Jones. He received salvation in December, 1979 under the pastorate of Bishop Walter E. Jordan. accepted his calling into the Gospel Ministry in 1981 and was ordained an elder in 1985.
Bishop Jones is founder and senior pastor of Agape Love Ministries in Sandusky. Jones and his late wife LaTanya started the ministry May 4, 1997. The Agape Love Ministries became debt free as of January, 2003! In September of 2002, the City of Sandusky declared September 7 as “Bishop Clifton Jones Day” to honor him for his accomplishments and ministry throughout the city.
On May 17, 2003, he was consecrated to the sacred office of Bishop by the Presiding Bishop, Wayne T. Jackson of the Greater Works of Christ International Fellowship of Churches in Detroit, Michigan.
He is a graduate of Kent State University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. is also a graduate of the American College of Bishops and is founder and first-elected president of the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance here in Sandusky.
Bishop Jones had been married to The Late Lady LaTanya for thirty-two years, to this union they have one son; Clifton Jr., a daughter, Tausha who is married to the Rev. George Hicks and this union blessed Bishop and Lady Jones with two lovely granddaughters, Natalie Grace and Victoria Faith.
Bishop's vision is to promote spiritual growth and to help build character in God’s people as they grow into maturity and to further encourage them to become workers with Christ developing leadership skills in our churches, home, and communities. Bishop cares about people and has a passion for children and young adults.
Bishop's ministry is geared towards those who are hurting and who are abused. His ministry is full of healing, restoration, and love.
